First Aid Annual Skills Update (ASU) Course (1/2 day)
Stay up-to-date with your life-saving skills through our First Aid Annual Update course. This 1/2-day session is designed to keep current first aiders confident and compliant, following HSE guidelines. It’s perfect for those with valid EFAW or FAW certifications.
The Annual Skills Update (ASU) is a brief, 1/2-day course tailored for current first aiders and emergency first aiders to refresh their practical skills. This is not a standalone first aid course and focuses on Basic Life Support (BLS) assessment, bandaging techniques, and managing shock.

Casualty assessment
Incident assessment
Care of unconscious casualties (recovery position)
Shock
Cardiac arrest and CPR
Use of an Automated External Defibrillator*
Minor wound treatment
Major wound treatment
Bandage techniques
Certification and Pre-Requisites
Each participant will receive a certificate of attendance, valid for one year, confirming you’ve completed your annual skills update in accordance with best practices.
This course is designed for:
First Aid at Work (FAW) certificate holders
Emergency First Aid At Work (EFAW) certificate holders
Any trained first aider needing a refresher before requalification
